About Laurie
Laurie Hartford, MS, RD, has a BA in biology with a concentration in nutrition from Cornell University and an MS in nutrition from Boston University. Her extensive academic background provides the scientific foundation for every recipe in this cookbook.
As a registered dietician, Laurie previously worked in pediatrics for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and for the Cystic Fibrosis team at the University of Kentucky. She is currently in private practice in the Bay Area, where she helps clients navigate dietary challenges and optimize their nutrition.
Cat and Laurie connected through Cat's father and Laurie's husband, who have worked together in the health-care industry. This personal connection blossomed into a professional collaboration that has spanned years of developing and testing migraine-friendly recipes.
Together with Chef Cat Browne, Laurie has created a cookbook that combines rigorous nutritional science with delicious, accessible cooking—proving that eating well doesn't mean sacrificing flavor or enjoyment.
